This will be an easy week to write about. So much for getting training in before my rest week.
Sunday: Nothing. I'm finally feeling normal(ish). Next week resumes training.
Saturday: Grant's Tomb Crit. See the race report.
Friday: nuh-uh.
Thursday: Nope, still not.
Wednesday: Still Sick. Still no riding.
Tuesday: Sick. No riding.
Monday: Rest day. No riding.

2013.14: Build 1.2 - 2/25 - 3/3
Sunday: I got a short ride in just to see how I felt. It was done on the nashfix. That bike feels very cramped. I might need to re-evaluate my fit on it. The ride itself went well enough. I yelled at some guy who I felt passed me too close. He disagreed, but eventually was persuaded to see my side. I blew a lot of snot rockets. Thick, goopy, yellow shit. Being sick sucks.

Saturday: Definitely sick. No riding. I'm very achy and decently loopy.
Friday: I was going to do the kreb ride, but I wasn't feeling too hot, so I decided to sleep in a bit instead. Eventually I got out on the nashfix to try some fixed gear cornering drills down at morriches park. I think if I do a bunch more of these, I'll get much more used to cornering while pedaling and life will be good. One thing I noticed while riding was that I felt like shit. I think I'm getting sick.

Thursday: Toooore up. No riding.
Wednesday: Intervals. 3x6.5 with 3.5 rest. I had trouble keeping the power up.

Tuesday: Helped my brother hang some sheetrock today. No riding, but I did get to inhale plenty of drywall dust.
Monday: Rest day. Recovered from the weekend.

2013.13: Build 1.1 - 2/18 - 2/24
I've been slacking with the ol' bloggyblog. I'll try to keep up to date more.
Sunday: Day two of the team camp. Most people left either saturday night or sunday morning, but I stayed a bit late with steve since the two of us were pretty hung over. I was able to get a ride in with Brean at least. I was wet and had a pounding headache, but we went to the light house. Brean was strong. I was not so much. Hopefully that's just from the drinking.

NP/IF/TSS: 208W/0.943/87 (Note that these two montauk rides have the same CP and IF)
Saturday: The team had a "training camp" out in montauk. Since the weather was shitty, we all brought rollers. I got there late and tried to ride for a little bit. My legs were still shot, though. Again, work didn't help. I got one interval in, but by the second interval, I was shot.

Friday: I was feeling very tired from work and the intervals this week, so I tried to just roll my legs out.

Thursday: Nada.
Wednesday: More intervals. These were longer at 3 x 7 minutes with 3 minutes rest. I don't think they were quite AE interval level. I guess they were cruise intervals.

Tuesday: Attempted to do hill repeats. Unfortunately, the roads were covered in crud and there were town trucks blocking one of the roads. I was able to sneak by, but shortly afterward I stopped to adjust my rear brake and realized my rear tire was going flat. Fortunately, it was a very slow leak, and I was able to limp home.

Monday: Rest day. Did intervals instead. Three intervals of 6 minutes with 4 minutes rest. I like my total interval/rest time to be 10 minutes to make the math easier for when to go hard again.

R13.06 - Race: Second Life Bicycles Roller Race #2
Well there isn't much to say about this race, and I don't remember all the gritty details, so we'll make this quick.
Race gear: 51x14.
I arrived around 6:30. Jen, Genisis, Non-team Aaron, Steve, Brean, and Iliana were all there. Only Jen, Gen, Steve and I raced though. We started with qualifiers at which point Steve crashed off the one roller and shattered the drive drum. That ended any possibility of a two-up race format. The results were determined by qualifying time then, where I posted a 16.6 and Andrew B posted a 16.7.
I won $50, donated it to the bike shop, had a bear or two, then drove to Brooklyn with Steve.

So last week I talked about making that my rest week since I didn't get to ride much at all and make this my first build week. Yeah, you can always count on me to take the lazier route and have a double rest week. At least I'll be extra ready to skip my build training.
Sunday: Team ride. Decently cold, more so windy. We once again had trouble meeting up with the rest of the team at an agreed-upon time, which meant everybody spent at least some time standing in the cold being miserable. This is something I really need to figure out how to address. Long story short, we got some miles in and managed to piss off some team members. All in a day's work.

Saturday: Second Life Bikes Roller Race Number Two. See the race report.
Friday: No riding. I was going to do light gear openers, but plans changed.
Thursday: No riding. Long day at work.
Wednesday: Doubling up. Even though this workout seems to have happened after midnight. Same gear, 51x14. It didn't feel as sluggish today, but I still couldn't get it up above 200rpm. I don't know what's going on there.

Tuesday: Spinbatas. I still had my roller racing gear on, and I didn't really feel like changing it, so these felt really sluggish.

2013.11: Base 3.3 - 2/4 - 2/10
So this week was basically a waste. I think I might call this a rest week and expand build 1. Maybe.
Sunday: Did some actual cross country skiing today, but I forgot my garmin. I would say it was 45 minutes worth. Later in the evening I did some actual roller work with some AE intervals at 3 x 6.5 minutes with 3.5 minutes rest.

Saturday: Trying to salvage this week. Lots of shovelling, followed by an attempt at cross country skiing, followed by an attempt to ride the rollers. Both of those failed pretty miserably.

Friday: No riding. Work, then too much snow. This week sucks.
Thursday: No riding. An immeasurably frustrating trip to NJ for a thule training clinic, then driving all around the city to drop off tires and pick up some handlebars.
Wednesday: No riding. Went in to work, then talked to Jamie Swan about building a track frame.
Tuesday: No riding. Went in to work, then helped out at the waterfront center.
Monday: Rest day. Rested.

5.2.13
2013.10: Base 3.2 - 1/28 - 2/3
Sunday: Another day off, another attempt at a long ride. My legs still felt dull from all the riding this week (how strange a concept). I decided on roughly 40 miles in roughly 2.5 hours, which I roughly hit spot on. I picked up some snacks from the bakery on the way home. I think I also saw Ron along 25a. And some guy in his car asked me why I was riding on the way out along 347. what an eventful ride!

Saturday: I had the urge to ride after work, so I went to cordwood to do some hill repeats. I was hoping for ten of them, but after the previous two nights' roller sessions my legs weren't all there. This meant I only did five repeats.

Friday: Double ride today. Rode to the beach before work, since I went in late. Rode the rollers in the evening. Shane suggested 5x2min intervals with 2min rest. And that's what I did.

Tuesday: Since I work now, my choice of days to ride is very limited. As such, even though today was supposed to be warm, it was too damp and chilly for me. Usually, I would turn right around and crawl into bed, but I stuck it out for a little bit. I was going to ride out east to where I could do uninhibited 2x20s, but instead just attempted something similar while dodging the lights along 347. By the time I went past crazy beans, I gave up, had a latte and just hammered home. All in all, I don't know if this was useful training in the least.
